Profile

Robert joined Macquarie in January 2009 and currently teaches in international business. 

He received his Ph.D in international business from Monash University.  His dissertation comprised a qualitative case study of ten Australian multinational firms  and highlights the challenges these firms face in formulating internationalisation strategy when their products contain complex combinations of goods and value added service activities, all of which need to be successfully delivered by the firm to clients in international markets.  

Between 2002 and 2008 Robert lectured in the subject areas of International Marketing and Research, International Business Strategy and International Business Theory and Practice in the Department of Management at Monash University and the Australian Graduate School of Entrepreneurship at Swinburne University of Technology.

Robert’s previous professional experience has comprised senior managerial positions in event and venue management.  He has been responsible for organising and supervising some of the most prestigious national and international events staged in Melbourne over the last decade.  In addition, Robert was involved in developing and implementing key marketing strategies and procedures for some of Melbourne most prestigious venues, including the planning, introduction and implementation of customer management initiatives and concepts. His work experience has also included consultation and training.

As part of his post graduate research, Robert participated in an international marketing study program meeting with the European Marketing Managers of prestigious international companies such as:
