Profile
Lorne’s area of teaching expertise is in Advanced Financial Accounting Theory and Practice, which includes the various accounting theories and paradigms of research, professional ethics and International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS). His area of academic research and research student supervision includes IFRS, stakeholder theory, measurement and disclosure issues associated with environmental accounting, and ethical investment. He has held visiting fellowships at the Macquarie Graduate School of Management, and the National University of Samoa. He is currently on the editorial board of the News Journal of the Asia Pacific Centre for Environmental Accountability (APCEA) and The Open Business Journal.Lorne has developed and written various cash flow workshops for CPA Australia’s continuing professional development (CPD) program, and presents these workshops across all states in Australia. Lorne has also delivered CPA Program workshops and presented at CPA Congresses and forums/seminars in Australia and Malaysia. He also presents technical seminars for Chartered Secretaries Australia, and is a technical panel adviser on Financial Accounting and Reporting to the Australasian Reporting Awards. Prior to coming to academia, Lorne worked in both in chartered accounting and the manufacturing industry.
