Profile
Dr Vicki Baard has national and international experience teaching undergraduate and postgraduate subjects in Management Accounting. Her teaching experience extends into Small Business Management, focusing on accounting in the small firm environment. Her areas of research, publication and supervision of students include management accounting, performance measurement, accounting & finance education, small business, the service industry and capacity management. Vicki’s research has been recognised with awards, invitations to present at international seminars and funded by competitive research grants. She is currently on the editorial board of Australasian Accounting, Business & Finance Journal (AABFJ) and is the Editor of Scholaris eJournal of Accounting & Finance, a student focused academic journal supported by the Faculty of Business and Economics. Prior to joining academia, Vicki worked within the entertainment and service industries.

Research
Research Interests
Within the area of management accounting my interests extend into performance measurement in service industries, performance measurement and management in small business, the use of management accounting techniques in small business and capacity management within the service industry.
Within accounting and finance education my interests extend into attitudes towards introductory statistics, student perceptions of research and the development of a student research journal to raise interest in and to facilitate the recognition of the importance of research at all student levels.
