Thesis Title
Economic Growth, Soil Pollution and Soil Quality in Central Thailand. (Awarded 2004)
Abstract
This study aims at identifying and quantifying the impacts of economic variables on soil pollution and the contribution of soil quality to economic growth in 19 provinces of central Thailand. The results are (a) the index of soil pollution have positive associations with Gross Provincial Product (GPP) and fertiliser application, and (b) the index of soil quality has a negative association with GPP. These results give rise to several policy implications about soil pollution generated by agricultural production and about soil quality at the national level.
